Data derived from surveys of "Earned Degrees Conferred" conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics indicate that as of June 30, 1976 there was substantial increases in the number of bachelor's degrees conferred in five of the top 12 fields of study in 1975-76 compared with 1970-71.
