Values and the Survival of the Liberal Arts College
Splete, Allen P.
Liberal Education, v63 n1 p118-125, Mar 77
The creation of values is seen as the central purpose of collegiate education. Some historical examples are cited that demonstrate the importance of values in shaping the present liberal arts college. Three widely valued skills are discussed: the ability to discriminate, to communicate, and to recognize obligation. (LBH)
