Journal of Interactive Learning Research, v35 n4 p411-424 2024
This alternating treatment design single case study investigated the effects of email-based performance feedback (PF) and immersive video within virtual reality (IVVR) on two preservice teachers' use of behavior-specific praise (BSP). Both participants demonstrated increased BSP rates following both intervention conditions. Findings suggest that both modalities hold promise for improving teacher practice, but individualized preferences and design should be considered when designing professional development programs. Further research is needed to explore the long-term impact of IVVR on skill maintenance and to investigate its effectiveness with larger and more diverse teacher populations.
