Educational Media International, v61 n4 p368-382 2024
Digital Citizenship is essential in today's world, and schools must cultivate these skills in students to help them become active and critical citizens. This idea inspired the ICT Competence Centres at the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and the University of Aveiro to develop a project for secondary students. The project, "The Internet as we see it," aimed to help students understand their own and their peers' perceptions of the Internet. Based on these perceptions, students were encouraged to address the risks they identified within their school communities. The paper outlines the project's goals, implementation, and findings, highlighting the importance of activities that raise students' awareness of Internet-related risks.
