The Mediating Role of Life Satisfaction in the Relationship between Graduate Students' Time Management and Motivation

The primary goal of this study is to investigate the mediator role of life satisfaction in the relationship between time management and motivation of graduate students. A structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to test the causal relationship of the latent variables. The participants consisted of 371 males (64.6%) and 203 females (35.4%). There were 539 (93.9%) master's students and 35 (6.1%) doctoral students. The data were collected through three data collection instruments: The Free Time Management Scale (FTMS), Academic Motivation Scale (AMS), and Higher Education Life Satisfaction Scale (HELSS). AMOS 22 program was used for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). SEM and SPSS 22.00 program were used for descriptive statistics. After data collection, the average variance extracted value of the measurements (AVE) and composite reliability (CR) were analysed for the model. The results demonstrated that values of AVE were above 0.5, and values of CR were above 0.7 indicating that the model was acceptable. The findings of the study also showed that life satisfaction was a partial mediator in the relationship between time management and the motivation of graduate students.
