This essay explores how health promotion pedagogy can center health equity for academic enrichment and application, prioritizing historically underserved and marginalized Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities through a culture-centered approach. It discusses the centrality of culture in health promotion education as a framework for incorporating health equity and concludes with recommendations to expand the concept of culture in health promotion pedagogy to advance health equity through classroom training and engagement.
