The Center for Gifted Education at William & Mary: Developing Talent since 1987
Tracy L. Cross
Gifted Child Today, v48 n1 p13-18 2025
The William & Mary Center for Gifted Education (CFGE) serves high-ability students and those with gifts and talents directly and indirectly through curriculum development, precollegiate learner programs, professional development for teachers and administrators, research, and doctoral programs. With an added focus on psychological needs, in 2015, the CFGE Executive Director created the Institute for Research on the Suicide of Gifted Students. The structure of the CFGE includes an executive director, directors in each area (curriculum, research, professional development, and precollegiate learner programs), support staff, and an advisory board. A recent move to a cost-center model enhances the sustainability of the program.
