Using "Project ECHO" to Support Birth-to-Three Providers Partnering with Families of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Katherine Bateman; Ashley Penney; Adriana Luna; Katelin Hobson
Young Exceptional Children, v27 n3 p145-157 2024
Ensuring providers have the knowledge and skills they need to be able to provide families with navigation support while they orient to the idea of an ASD diagnosis is crucial. Doing so may help families to feel supported and increase access to meaningful services. Project ECHO is an evidence- based approach to delivering and facilitating high-quality, virtual case-based support, training, and opportunities for collaboration among participants. ECHO reduces barriers to effective multidisciplinary collaboration by providing dedicated time to engage in case-based learning while eliminating issues related to accessibility.
