The Teaching and Learning Network: A Model of Interdisciplinary Networking as Educational Leadership and Faculty Development
Christie L. Stewart; Sara M. Fulmer
Journal of Faculty Development, v38 n3 p83-85 2024
The Teaching and Learning Network (TLN) at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, represents an effective network model for faculty and educational leadership development. Grounded in the principles of communities of practice (Wenger, 1998), the TLN is a collaborative network that fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, relationship building, knowledge exchange, and professional development for its members and the broader campus community. This article explains the TLN's structure, goals, and activities, with special attention to practical examples and suggestions for advancing faculty development through this network model.
