Teaching Science, v69 n3 p22-33 2023
This article reports on initial findings from "Learning By Doing," a citizen science research project funded by a NSW DOE Strategic Research Grant. Our study aimed to understand the process of integrating citizen science into schools, the perceived outcomes and impacts for students, and ways to evaluate citizen science projects. In this part of the project, we sought to answer two questions. 1) What are the perspectives of teachers and project leaders on learning outcomes and impacts for students through citizen science participation? 2) What are the perceptions of teachers and project leaders on assessing and evaluating outcomes?
