Educational Policy Analysis and Strategic Research, v18 n3 p405-422 2023
The COVID-19 outbreak has compelled many countries to shift towards distance learning as a means to continue education while ensuring the safety of students and educators. Consequently, the usage of information technologies in education has increased significantly. This study focuses on developing a tool for measuring the information technology self-efficacy of primary school teachers in Balikesir who have had to increase their use of technology for distance education during the academic year 2020-2021. The study participants are primary school teachers in Balikesir. The scale structure, consisting of five factors and twelve items, was identified through analysis. The results indicate that the developed scale is reliable. The scale can help assess the self-efficacy of distance education teachers and support efforts to improve their use of information technologies.
