Teaching a Successful Badminton Unit: Skills and Strategies for Secondary Physical Education
Brent Heidorn
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v37 n1 p20-26 2024
Lifetime participation in physical activity is a major goal of physical education. For this reason, teachers should focus on instructional units that provide students with knowledge and skills in content areas that can be used throughout their adult lives. Examples of lifetime activities include outdoor recreational activities, cycling, water sports, winter sports, racquet sports, golf, fitness pursuits, and some team sports. One lifetime activity physical educators could consider teaching is badminton. This article provides middle and high school physical education teachers with the basic but necessary information to teach an effective badminton unit.
