Graduate Program Relevance and Mathematics Educators Career: Evidence from the Tracer Study

Graduate education caters advanced learning opportunities among its clientele, and one of the responsibilities is to ensure that the program contributes significantly to the field. This study explored on the contribution and relevance of the Master of Education major in Mathematics Program in the career of the mathematics educators. It also determined the strengths and weaknesses of the program to assess its possible areas for improvement. The explanatory sequential mixed-method research was utilized in gathering and explaining the data taken from the first eight graduates of the program. Based on the findings, the program contributed towards their professional development particularly in enhancing their content and pedagogical knowledge and research abilities. The program also paved the way toward various career opportunities when they earned the degree. More so, the study suggests increasing more relevant courses, research, and other activities that will significantly improve their expertise towards advancing their career.
