TRIO Programs Aren't Designed to Do It All: Reflective Conversations to Support First-Generation Students
About Campus, v28 n1 p23-27 Mar-Apr 2023
This essay is a discussion of the lived experiences of first-generation college students each August when they arrive on a college campus for the first time. The author's approach offers a reflective component for institutions of higher education to consider when creating support or programs for first-generation students as they navigate an unfamiliar terrain in which they are expected to understand its components instantly.
