Contemporary Business Law Courses: An Exploratory Study of Undergraduate Textbook Content and Pedagogical Planning
Kuzenski, John C.
Journal of Legal Studies Education, v40 n1 p119-140 Win 2023
There is a widespread understanding that most business undergraduates will need some exposure to the law to maximize their opportunities to succeed as businesspeople or managers, but the extent of that exposure could easily become overkill if educators lose sight of the fact that these are not law students. However in just over 87% of business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a single three-hour course in business law is all that is required of undergraduate students for graduation. The purpose in this article is to provide an exploratory study and some possible answers--or at least lines of development for future research into more satisfying answers--into these and related questions.
