The continued and substantial increase in technological resources generates a new concept of education that utilizes online resources -- blended learning. Blended learning represents a combination of face-to-face experiences and online learning experiences. The advantage of this multiple-method approach is that it offers the opportunity to achieve goals related to sustainable education. Thus, a lab practice for engineering students is proposed using this educational approach. The objective is to take the advantage of each modality and to make higher education more attractive and accessible for adult students. For this issue, an experimental facility for domestic use based on a micro-cogeneration system was developed. This practice provides students with opportunities for developing new renewable energy sources. Students interact with three different possible modes of control of the plant: manual, automatic and remote control. In order to achieve the major objectives and educational goals, including those related with sustainability, the lab practice is divided into three stages. To ensure that each student acquires responsibilities, tasks are assigned individually.
