This paper is about the importance of understanding immigrant Latino parental involvement in the United States' educational system. Misconceptions regarding Latino parental involvement will be presented as a way to help pre-service teachers and educators to understand factors that determine Latino parental involvement. This information can be used to create opportunities for this group of parents to engage in school activities in accordance with their reality.
