Strategies for Success: Lessons Learned through Building First-Year Student Schedules
About Campus, v27 n5 p40-49 Nov-Dec 2022
This article relays the author's experiences and lessons learned after she was selected to serve as the faculty coordinator for first-year student scheduling at her institution. The new assignment to run the first-year scheduling function in the summer was supposed to be a way to do something interesting and engaging in the summer. It turned out to be a lesson in the importance of communication, coalition-building, and collaboration. What follows is a story of using student affairs educator knowledge, skills, and abilities to create institutional change.
