ZERO TO THREE, v42 n3 p44-52 2022
Over the last 2 years, the COVID-19 pandemic has compounded the way in which two-generational, early childhood education programs partner with families. As providers and families reported their COVID-19 challenges, Head Start and Early Head Start programs adapted an evidence-based professional development model for family service professionals. The aim of this model was to support staff capacity for reflection and help apply strength-based practices. Construct[TM] coaching supported the transition to virtual communication and added capacity to stay connected with families. This family engagement coaching model offered self-care and professional guidance for a staff working in a world of crisis and change.
