The Opportunities Provided by COVID-19 for Science Teaching
Levesley, Mark
Primary Science, n170 p14-16 Nov 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the greatest challenges faced for a very long time. However, it has also presented educators with novel opportunities for teaching, none more so than in science. There are the obvious links between COVID-19 and the body of scientific knowledge that curriculum designers think educators should help students to learn. But the opportunities for science teaching go deeper than that: the pandemic has sparked a greater interest in how science is done and who it is done by. In this article, the author considers the teaching and learning that can stem from the COVID-19 pandemic.
