Intercultural Non-Formal Education: What the Children Think
Mlynarczuk-Sokolowska, Anna
Intercultural Education, v33 n1 p82-98 2022
This article focuses on children's opinions (aged 7-12) regarding their views on intercultural non-formal education activities carried out by Polish non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The study was conducted through unstructured interviews, with 65 participants. The results of the research show that, thanks to its character (active learning), intercultural non-formal education creates a special space for the development of intercultural competences. Its content and methods are very attractive and popular among children. It may be concluded that intercultural education carried out by NGOs can provide an inspiring alternative to traditional kindergarten and school activities.
