Innovations in a Technological Age Curriculum
Ediger, Marlow
Reading Improvement, v56 n2 p67-69 Sum 2019
There are a plethora of innovations in the school curriculum. The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) the C3 Framework of the National Council Social Studies, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), The Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA), among others, indicates movement in curriculum modification and change. Classroom teachers implementing selected changes, too, contribute to a new curriculum. The writer in this manuscript will focus on communication with parents, emphasized in the ESSA ACT of 2015, which can be done in a variety of ways. To emphasize adequate shared information involving pupil achievement between teachers and parents makes it possible to assist the learner to achieve more optimally. How might communication be improved to inform parents in aiding and assisting pupils to learn as optimally as possible?
