Strategies for Enhancing Student Interaction in an Online Health Promotion Course
Huang, Yan
College Student Journal, v55 n1 p1-6 Mar 2021
Higher education institutions are increasingly offering online courses, forcing a growing number of faculty members, who are accustomed to the traditional face-to-face method of teaching, to adapt to the rigors of the new technology. Although students demonstrate more positive attitudes and superior academic performance when engaging in highly interactive online courses, many of the lecturers obliged to teach them are unaware of how to make them more interactive. In this article, a senior-level online course for students seeking a bachelor's degree in health promotion is used to describe how to establish an interactive online learning environment and to provide strategies for increasing student interactivity.
