Change management can be a complicated task in any industry, but higher education is a particularly complex course to navigate. While some may object to characterizing change in higher education as a race, the reality is that higher education is in the midst of change, and institutions that cannot adapt to the competitive realities fast enough may not survive. Unless an institution's mission is no longer relevant or there is a belief that others can serve the mission better, then like it or not, then it is a virtual race. Todd J.
