NABE Journal of Research and Practice, v10 n1 p13-20 2020
The aim of this study is to assess the needs and perceived difficulties of students of a master's degree on Bilingual Education who have had to work on a master's dissertation in English. First, some relevant studies in the field of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) will be reviewed, with a specific focus on those that tackle the challenges that writing a dissertation in English for non-native speakers entails. The qualitative methodology will then be presented with information about the instrument, participants and academic context. Finally, the results of the study will be analyzed. In the conclusions, we will reflect on the importance of writing a future guide that specifically covers the needs of students of this kind of programs to help them face the challenges of writing a dissertation in an easier and more approachable manner.
