The Edupreneur Frontier: Creating a New System of Curriculum and Professional Development for Teachers
Ingram, Cindy
Art Education, v72 n5 p14-18 2019
Teachers spend hours each week scouring the internet for lesson ideas. Hours of scrolling, clicking on links, and typing keywords into search bars on Pinterest, Facebook, and their favorite blogs. They do not walk through library stacks to do their research, and books are no longer the primary reference point. Most art teachers find the inspiration for a new lesson plan online. The internet is jam packed with people generously offering their knowledge to those who need it. Have teachers ever thought about the people behind the search results? Ever wonder how much time it took them to create and post that pin? In this article, the author will discuss her own journey from educator to edupreneur and how edupreneurs can fill the art teacher curriculum and professional development gap.
