Experiential Learning in the Age of Web 2.0: The Rap Video Project
Peterson, Mark
Marketing Education Review, v28 n2 p109-114 2018
The following experiential-learning innovation for Web 2.0 allows students to engage in creativity that is focused on writing poetry about a course-related topic and then recording a three-minute rap video based on this poetry. The rap video project described in this article offers students an opportunity to apply critical- and creative-thinking skills in the development of their Web 2.0 video and to later become teachers for their fellow students. Mastery of course-related topics as a result of this process evidenced by both deep engagement in the project and a presentation of the finished product in a visual form. The innovation can be readily applied in a variety of marketing courses.
