Entrepreneurship can be understood as "the introduction of new economic activity that leads to change in the marketplace." The effect of new firms on economic activity is notable, as firms formed within the previous twelve months generally employ more than three million individuals within the United States. As such, entrepreneurship education has received considerable attention from both practitioners and educators who actively debate whether entrepreneurship can be taught and whether entrepreneurship education is effective in promoting new business creation. Likewise, the intersection of law and entrepreneurship is a topic of increased interest for scholars seeking to understand the role and effect of laws on entrepreneurship practice and the decision to create or pursue a new venture. Endorsing the view that entrepreneurial activity can be augmented by classroom instruction, this article explores methods for including practical legal instruction relevant to the entrepreneurial venture into the business curriculum with the objective of increasing a critical entrepreneurial competence and, ultimately, facilitating entrepreneurial activity. Specifically, it proposes a cross functional approach to integrating legal concepts into the business school curriculum in a manner that augments the business-related skills of the entrepreneur.
