The authors conducted a content analysis on quantitative studies published in "The Journal for Specialists in Group Work" ("JSGW") between 2012 and 2015. This brief report provides a general overview of the current practices of quantitative group research in counseling. The following study characteristics are reported and discussed: study design, sample size (total number of participants, group sizes, and number of groups), statistical tests and/or techniques used, and how/whether the violation of independence assumption was addressed. The authors make recommendations for best practices in quantitative group work research.
