Employability Skills Assessment: Measuring Work Ethic for Research and Learning
Park, HwaChoon; Hill, Roger B.
Career and Technical Education Research, v41 n3 p175-192 Dec 2016
The Employability Skills Assessment (ESA) was developed by Hill (1995) to provide an alternative measure of work ethic needed for success in employment. This study tested goodness-of-fit for a model used to interpret ESA results. The model had three factors: interpersonal skills, initiative, and dependability. Confirmatory factor analysis results demonstrated a significant overall relation between the ESA factors and showed that the three-factor model of the ESA was acceptable for the observed data. Potential applications for the ESA are also described.
