Racial Differences on a Black Intelligence Test
Boone, James A.; Adesso, Vincent J.
Journal of Negro Education, 43, 4, 429-436, F 74
In an investigation of racial differences on an "intelligence" test containing items specific to the Black environment, black subjects had a higher mean score than white subjects and there was no positive correlation between the Black Intelligence Test and the Shipley Institute of Living Scale, a traditional intelligence test. Thus, racial differences typically reported in test scores may well be a function of the instrument used rather than some innate characteristic of the individual. (EH)
