In July 2015, the Bush Blitz TeachLive expedition took place on the Olkola people's traditional lands on Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. Five teachers joined more than a dozen scientists and the Olkola Indigenous rangers to act as research assistants, as part of the eight-day Bush Blitz TeachLive experience. As a team, they discovered new species of spider as well as rare fish and orchids. Whilst on the Blitz, Brett McKay (STANSW), Leslie Carr (SEA*ACT), Chris Greene (STAV), Susannah Webber (STAWA), and Tony Egan (SASTA) kept in contact with their students back at school via a dedicated website and by Skype. They wrote daily blogs, posted photos, and conducted interactive forums between the scientists and the students. This report describes the author's 2015 Bush Blitz TeachLive experience.
