Feeling the Way
Statham, Mick
Primary Science, n127 p16-18 Mar 2013
The author describes a model designed to "improve science learning in 30 minutes" using an alternative perspective on a language-based kinaesthetic approach to teaching science. Identification of pupils' learning styles is commonplace throughout the education system, using the simple model of establishing whether the learners are predominantly visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic (VAK) in their approach. The author presents a model of how language will work for individual pupils. The author shows it is effective for enabling pupil progression, building confidence in their own learning, and giving them control of improving their own understanding.
