Using Telestrations™ to Illustrate Small Group Communication Principles
Fedesco, Heather Noel
Communication Teacher, v28 n3 p150-154 2014
This single class activity described here: (1) illustrates the importance of interdependence in groups; (2) can be used to measure group productivity and performance; (3) can encourage groups to engage in group learning; and (4) can facilitate group cohesion for newly formed groups. Students will be working in groups for the majority of their academic lives as well as in their careers (Cain, 2012; Pavitt & Curtis, 1994). Playing Telestrations™ can help demonstrate several important characteristics and processes experienced when working in groups. This activity is appropriate for Small Group Communication, Organizational Communication, or any course in which there is a small group component.
