Ojibwemotaadidaa Omaa Gidakiiminaang (let's speak Ojibwe to one another here on our Earth) is an Ojibwe language immersion program funded by Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC, Cloquet, MN) and with grants from the State of Minnesota. With a development team that included FDLTCC President Larry Anderson, among others, participants sought to create a program where students could learn Ojibwe at an advanced level. The Ojibwemotaadidaa program at FDLTCC has been successful because language learning is not purely academic. Tribal colleges and universities are the ideal venue for such programs, as they are institutions where cultural life, spirituality, humor, and learning intersect. FDLTCC's program emphasizes that the fluent first speakers of the language are the experts. And by bringing fluent speakers and language learners together, the integrity and diversity of the language is ensured.
