A plea is made to develop curriculum guidelines and an accreditation body to evaluate and accredit professional preparation programs in the field. The key to excellence is described in terms of quality programs as related to appropriate curriculum offerings, adequate learning resources, and defined standards of acceptable performance. (Author)
