Kanewischer, Erica J. W.
Journal of Creativity in Mental Health, v8 n1 p70-80 2013
This article provides an intervention to be used with young children in the foster care or adoption system. "Do You Ever Feel That Way? A Story and Activities About Families and Feelings" is a bibliotherapy-based intervention to be used with young children who have experienced removal from their homes due to abuse or neglect. The narrative tells the story of a little girl and her range of feelings in different settings as she moves through the child-protection system. The questions and activities following the narrative provide clinicians and family members the opportunity to facilitate discussion with children and to help them develop a sense of family and safety.
