Officials in charge of the world's largest educational system, the People's Republic of China, have embarked upon a massive, and thorough campaign to integrate learning and work. Barring some unforeseen policy reversal, the current Chinese emphasis upon combining manual and mental labor at all levels and shortening courses will be continued. (Author/DS)
