Predicting The Curriculum Mobility Of Engineering Students: A Comparison Of Discriminant Procedures
Molnar, George E.; Delauretis, Robert J.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, 20, 1, 50-59, Jan 73
This study determines the efficiency of a system containing aptitude, achievement, and noncognitive data, and a measure of college performance in predicting the long-range educational-vocational decisions of engineering students. Noncognitive data best predicts between intellectually homogeneous student groupings whereas first-semester grade point average dominates the predictor set relevant to more intellectually heterogeneous groupings.
