A prototype of a self-teaching program to increase open-mindedness among counselors in training was developed and evaluated. Eight written exercises were completed by students of a beginning course in counseling. Comparison of this experimental group with a control group showed significant differences as assessed by three performance measures but no differences according to three pencil-and-paper attitude measures.
