A Comparison of Teachers', Administrators, and Substitute Teachers' Perceptions of Substitute Teachers'

A five category preference questionnaire was distributed to random samples of substitute teachers, regular teachers, and administrators. The data was analyzed using chi squared statistics. Substitutes rated principals' concern for substitute qualifications lower than did regular teachers and administrators. Substitutes also rated teachers lower in preparation of lesson plans and seating charts. Substitutes rated themselves higher in doing an adequate job of teaching than did teachers and administrators.
