Examines the problem of the shortage of graduate teachers of science and mathematics in Britain. The results of a survey of the attrition rate of these teachers are presented. The author is critical of educational experts who continue to produce unrealistic schemes for science education without having the least appreciation of the difficulties created by teacher shortage in science and mathematics.
