Job satisfaction and intent to stay in a nursing faculty position are critical in enhancing nursing education quality and addressing the current nursing shortage by attracting future nurses to the workforce. The unique challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic could have affected faculty members' job satisfaction and decisions regarding remaining in a faculty position. The purpose of the study was to determine associate degree nursing (ADN) faculty job satisfaction and intent to stay 3 years after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative, cross-sectional, correlational research design was utilized to test the hypotheses. Data were collected from 63 ADN faculty members in a state in the southeastern region of the United States, utilizing an anonymous online survey. Results indicated that ADN faculty members were ambivalent toward job satisfaction but moderately inclined to remain in a faculty position. The ADN faculty were satisfied with coworkers, supervision, and the nature of the work but were dissatisfied with pay. The age of faculty members demonstrated a statistically significant relationship with job satisfaction and intent to stay, while years of teaching experience did not. The study also explored additional factors influencing job satisfaction and intent to stay through two open-ended questions. The study's findings underscore the importance of addressing areas of dissatisfaction or ambivalence to improve overall job satisfaction and retention among ADN faculty 3 years after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
