Dear Colleague Letter on FFATA Reporting Requirements. [OESE-2021-01]
Frank T. Brogan
Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, US Department of Education
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act requires a grantee receiving more than $150,000 to report to the Department of Education on a quarterly basis, which the Department considers satisfied through the more frequent, monthly reporting requirements of the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (FFATA). This letter to state school officers is a reminder of the reporting requirements of FFATA for states and their grantees, noting that they must ensure their reporting is complete, accurate, and of high quality. Failure to meet statutorily mandated reporting requirements can lead to a range of administrative actions, up to and including termination of the grant.
