Quantitative Analysis: The Impact of Cost, Time and ROI on the Likelihood of Enrolling in Graduate School
Stephanie L. Franks
ProQuest LLC, D.B.A. Dissertation, Keiser University
The primary purpose of the current study was to predict the likelihood of enrollment in Graduate School based on three independent variables: cost, time-to-completion, and return on investment. To achieve this purpose, a Z-test for the hypothesis of two proportions was utilized to create a predictive model. The model aimed to help institutional leaders develop strategic marketing and recruitment initiatives that differentiate them, thereby maintaining and increasing enrollment. Graduate school enrollment highly depends on an institution's ability to differentiate itself. While the current study was used to predict the impact of the three variables independently and collectively, it also was used to consider many other factors that can influence enrollment decisions. The current study findings indicated that policymakers and institutional leaders should consider factors beyond the variables when making decisions. However, strong evidence existed that all three independent variables were statistically significant when evaluated independently and even stronger evidence when evaluated collectively.
