The Impact of a Study Abroad Program for Advisors at the University of Cincinnati
Ryan N. Meyer
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Northern Kentucky University
Study abroad participation has become an increasingly important part of the college experience. UC International Programs, the study abroad office at the University of Cincinnati, has organized an experientially based, international professional development program for advising staff, with the goal of equipping them with the tools to encourage students to take advantage of similar experiences. Alumni of the program participated in a focus group to assess the impact both professionally and personally. Participants were asked to reflect on the experience and recall if it influenced their work and ability to talk about and encourage students to take advantage of a study abroad experience.
