A Study of the Effects of District of Innovation Policy on Teacher Efficacy
Jesus Molina
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Concordia University Texas
Transparency is a fundamental trait that teachers must exhibit in their district and on their campus in order to understand the mission and goals of the district and campus. Educators need proper training and guidance from district and campus leaders to establish a collective efficacy for the benefit of student success. As school districts find ways to create ideas to enhance success on campuses, the Texas Legislature has enacted district innovation policies to help campuses to create innovative ideas for teachers. How do those policies affect teacher efficacy? The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of district policies of innovation on teacher efficacy. The study compares survey responses from educators in a district of innovation and educators in a district without innovation. Findings report whether teacher efficacy is affected by traditional policies of a noninnovative district versus the changes in policies in a district of innovation.
