ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Bay Path University
This action research study provided insight into a proactive faculty and staff-centered approach facilitated by a Latinx Cultural Center at Guava University System. The purpose of the research study was to develop a faculty and staff-centered initiative that promoted awareness, information, and understanding of student referrals to the Latinx Cultural Center. The study findings include understanding the experiences of Latinx Cultural Center professional staff members and the experiences of Latinx students at the Latinx Cultural Center, the need of faculty and staff members, and the specific actions taken after receiving training and awareness related to the Center. Overall, the findings of the study affirm the purpose of the Latinx Cultural Center and the positive experiences professional staff and students create, the need for a Latinx cultural center to provide a clear understanding of their referral process to faculty and staff members, and student engagement through action activities.
