Educational Leadership during the Coronavirus Pandemic: Perceptions and Reality

This research examined perceptions of educational leadership during a time of crisis, the coronavirus pandemic. Three quantitative survey instruments along with school success data provided insights into the outcomes of culture of K-12 schools in the Mississippi Delta during a critical time for the world. Principals and teachers completed multiple choice questions using an online survey tool. Due to having fewer participants than initially planned, the research did not have proper statistical power and could not find any statistically significant differences. However, interesting patterns in the research do provide insights into future research on educator perceptions at schools with different accountability ratings and suggest divergent viewpoints between principals and teachers on multiple aspects of school leadership during a time of crisis.
