Best Practices to Facilitate the Improvement of Math Fluency, Computation, and Reducing Math Anxiety
Christa Nichelle Adams
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
The study investigated best practices to increase students' skills in math fluency and computation and reduce math anxiety. The studies used in this Systematic Literature Review were analyzed using the TAPUPAS framework to ensure the studies chosen were quality and were relevant to the research questions. The results of these analyzed studies demonstrated the best practices for reducing math anxiety, increasing math fluency and improving math computation. It was found by ensuring that students have many opportunities to respond, giving immediate feedback about their work, keeping levels or learning paths adaptable, recognizing and rewarding goals that are reached, and explicit instruction will accomplish all three goals.
